nino paulito @ somerset house

I have a few works in progress at the moment which are taking a lil longer than expected to complete due to some hardcore work shifts and a few unexpected surprises. Be prepared for future posts on adult themed children's toys, a goat boy look book and er, mime...

Here now are some scenes from the Somerset House courtyard which is the perfect place to enjoy a drink this summer. There are fountains in the middle of the floor so you can dive in and cool off if it all gets a lil too hot. A series of summer events also kicks off next month too and it's usually a good shout. In 2009 we watched The Mars Volta summon Goliath, this year Paulo and I are quite looking forward to the Film4 outdoor cinema screenings. We've got tickets to go see the Shaft/ Serpico double bill and also Scott Pilgrim vs The World. Yee Haa!

nino paulito x Canturbury @ Therapy Store

So comes the end of a long week of events. First Free Range, then Graduate Fashion Week, on Wednesday witnessed a monolithic live performance by Battles in the aptly named Heaven and then on Thursday received an invite to Canterbury's new collection launch at Therapy Spitalfields. I'm no fashion writer so if you want to know what they do, read on here.

The launch had a live performance by the current face of Canterbury, Mikill Pane (who bears a very, very slight appearance to someone I know), cakes supplied by The Hummingbird Bakery, a table football contest and the usual array of 'faces'. I'd have taken my camera along to take snaps but think there were more than enough photographers there already. Had a nice night though and I met a few people too.

Now, back to the real job. Looking forward to 7 straight days of night shift, wooo!

nino paulito @ Graduate Fashion Week

Graduate Fashion Week is a forum to showcase the very best BA fashion design talent in the UK. Held at Earl's Court, there are static displays of work from over 50 Universities and also a series of catwalk shows running throughout the event.

Nino Paulito somehow scored free tickets for the first three nights so took time to indulge in everything. We liked the kitsch caravan display by Bournemouth University which combined the various skills of craft and textiles students to create the wonderfully twee interior. They even had had tea and a caravan shaped cake too. Below are a few of our other favourite things...

nino paulito @ Free Range 2011

Free Range is a showcase of recent undergraduate work by students from the countries creative courses. Nino Paulito took a trip down Brick Lane last Sunday for a lil nose. Like most graduate shows, it's mostly individual 'things' rather than individual people that stands out. Here are a few 'things' which caught our attention.

The work displayed changes every few days to show the work of a different university. For the full line up visit http://www.free-range.org.uk
